A New Mexico man Raymond Hernandez, 29, accused was accused of raping three CHILDREN . Within the same week TWICE but the same judge, Judge Ernest Ortega released him on bail twice!
On January 15 after he was first arrested for allegedly raping a teenage girl, his own 13 year old daughter and beating her friend. At that point Judge Ortega released him on a $10,000 bond and mandated her wear a GPS ankle monitor.
On January 17, Hernandez, was arrested again for allegedly molesting a 19-month toddler who lived in the same house as the teen he was accused of raping. He was wearing an ankle monitor at the time of the horrific event. His case was heard by the same judge, Judge Ortega, who again released him on $20,000 bail.
After making bail a few days later, Hernandez allegedly went on to rape a five-year-old girl living next door to his family. He fled New Mexico shortly after but was arrested last Sunday night in Colorado.
Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe told local media that he suspects Hernandez has even more victims that are unknown to authorities. The district states attorney hopes to finally get indictments on this man.
The question here is: Why is the Judge still on the bench? It seems to amaze me that people who have allegedly assaulted children are allowed to go free on bail when they are a danger to the most vulnerable population, children. #SaveTheChildren
We have reached out to Judge Ortega’s office and have yet to receive a response at the time of this publication.
