On July 11, 2019 a federal grand jury indicted eight MS-13 gang members for racketeering conspiracy; attempted murder in aid of racketeering; assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering; conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering; and using, carrying and possessing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence according to ICE.
Those that were charged in the 18-counts that was unsealed on July 12, 2019 were the following who are allegedly MS-13 gang members or associates of MS-13 :
- Rolan Ivan Hernandez-Fuentes, 25, aka Ivan Fuentes, Tasmania, Ronal Ivan and Fuentes Hernandez;
- Jerson Gutierrez-Ramos, 20, aka Gerson Gutierrez and Sparky;
- Cristian Wilfredo Cabrera-Cruz, 26, aka Cristin Benjamin Vigil and Mama;
- Kevin Cruz, 19, aka Street Danger;
- Jose Armando Saravia-Romero, 19, aka Jose Saravia, Mandy and Pinky;
- Jonathan Alexander Baires, 20, aka Splinter.
- Manuel Amaya-Alvarez, 21, aka Manuel Amaya and Chocolate;
- Eight member name SEALED UNDER INDICTMENT [Still at Large]
Today Manuel Amaya-Alvarez, 21, aka Manuel Amaya and Chocolate was sentenced 20 years in federal prison for his conduct and role in a very brutal machete attack at Running Bear Park, outside of Dallas, Texas.
In May of 2019, Manuel Amaya-Alvarez, 22, plead guilty to four counts of violent crime in aid of racketeering (VICAR).
According to his initial indictment, Amaya-Alvarez is an El Salvadorian national. Amaya-Alvarez admitted that he entered the United States illegal and that he belonged to MS-13.

Amaya-Alvarez admitted to police that on Sept. 25, 2017, he and his MS-13 gang members intended to “take out,” or kill, four individuals at Running Bear Park in Irving, Texas.
On September 25, 2017 Amaya-Alvarez and his gang members, lured a man they thought was a rival gang member to Running Bear Park pretending they wanted to buy his tattoo machine. The victim arrived with two other men and a female. When they arrived, the MS-13 gang members lured them to a wooded area of the park where other MS-13 gang members were hidden and waiting armed with clubs, machetes and a shotgun.
Once Amaya-Alvarez and his fellow gang member, sat on the park bench, and exchanged greeting with the victims, the other MS-13 members that were hiding came out surrounding the victims, forcing them to kneel to the ground. They robbed the victims and began beating them with clubs and hacking at them with machetes. The three male victims fled but the woman, who was simply their acquaintance was savagely attacked with the machetes and left for dead. Of the three men that fled, two of them suffered serious injuries including severe trauma from the beatings by the clubs and cuts from a machete.
This was a very vicious crime where the intent was theft and murder in the most horrific way.
